Exercise for Low Back Pain
Exercise is recommended in the clinical practice guidelines for the treatment of low back pain. While stabilization exercises such as McGill’s Big 3 are some of the most commonly prescribed exercises, they are not the only approach to low back pain. A recent systematic review found that there is not one most effective exercise strategy.
Spinal Manipulation
Spinal manipulation is always a hot topic for the treatment of low back pain. In one systematic review and meta-analysis, it was found that spinal manipulative therapy produced similar effects as other recommended therapies for chronic low back pain.
While SMT is not a panacea, it may be considered as as treatment option for those with low back pain.
